Since we can never hear enough about the next big thing Apple might have in store, here's something that could be music to your ears. In their effort to add multiple uses to pretty much all their products, they've also reportedly had internal discussions to add fitness-related components to the pods including biometric sensors, like a heart rate monitor. First, Apple is said to be working on own-brand over-ear wireless headphones. While already impressive, Apple is looking to further improve the connectivity of the AirPods so that they are able to talk to the paired iPhone or iPad over a longer distance.

The rumored over-ear headphones are reportedly supposed to compete with the likes of Bose and Sennheiser and would be offered as a higher-end alternative to Apple's Beats headphones.

A new HomePod is also coming in early 2019, according to Bloomberg's sources, although it's unclear how it'll differ from the current, er, unpopular model. These will be put out under Apple, rather than Beats, branding. Well, to release some new headphones at least. It does say, however, that Apple is expanding its partnership with Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn-which manufactures the bulk of Apple's iPhones-to boost production of its future audio devices.
