President Donald Trump started Wednesday morning by touting his biggest accomplishment in diplomacy with North Korea and its leader Kim Jong Un: all but eliminating the threat of nuclear war.

"Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience", the US president tweeted Wednesday morning after returning to Washington from Singapore, where he had held talks with Kim.

Pompeo also said he's confident that US talks with North Korea will resume "sometime in the next week".

Nevertheless, Mr. Trump tweeted on Wednesday, before the denuclearization process even begins, that Americans should "sleep well", because, in his words, North Korea was "no longer" the United States' "biggest and most unsafe problem".

In the joint statement from the summit on Tuesday, the U.S. and the DPRK said they would commit to establishing a new relationship, and that the DPRK would work toward denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, while the United States commits to providing security guarantees to the DPRK.

Trump also told a press conference in Singapore that he would stop USA joint annual military exercises with South Korea, which he called "provocative" and "expensive".

According to the video, Mr. Trump went down the line shaking hands until he reached North Korean Gen.

"Featuring President Donald Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un, in a meeting to remake history, to shine in the sun". "We have thousands of people who have asked for that - thousands and thousands of people", Trump said.
