Dennis Rodman breaks down in tears during CNN interview on North Korea

President Trump, Rodman said, is proud of him and thanks him a lot.

Commenting on the recent developments, Rodman said, "Let's just hope for the best".

The U.S. top diplomat is jetting to South Korea to brief the country's president as Asian allies try to parse the implications of the extraordinary nuclear summit in Singapore between President Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong Un.

Mr Rodman struck up an unlikely friendship with Mr Kim over their shared love of basketball.

"It's a move to show North Korea's willingness to open its economy to the global community, by stressing his image as an open-minded leader through the media", Kim Yong-hyun, a professor of North Korean studies at Dongguk University in Seoul said. "From Day 1. I felt like I owe it to myself and the people of the world".

"I said to everybody, I said, 'The door will open, '" he said.

A spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry said during a weekly briefing with reporters Monday that Iran views the Trump-Kim summit with "great pessimism", the Times of Israel reports.
