Nintendo's E3 is all about Smash Bros and Fortnite on Switch

Super Smash Bros Ultimate headlined a content-packed Nintendo Direct presentation ahead of this year's E3.

So when Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Super Smash Bros. From the Switch screens, it looks like both Switches are playing the same Super Mario Party game which tells us two things. Also important are the gameplay mechanics, which are fairly unique to the series, though a few similar games have popped up in recent years.

Nintendo got to close out E3, but it's hard to say whether or not it stood up to the competition.

Moving on to the next Nintendo E3 2018 announcement, we have a brand new piece of DLC for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Torna: The Golden Country.

However, it's also important to note that many of these characters have multiple costumes, like Link, who can don his more classic outfit in addition to his Breath of the Wild look.

Meanwhile, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the first Fire Emblem game made for the Switch, featuring tactical combat and a host of fun RPG tropes. We also got a look at the kind of characters we can expect in the latest take on one of the most popular fighting game franchises of all time. The game supports a variety of controller options, including Nintendo GameCube controllers (original or newly designed), Joy-Con controllers or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. One of the games shown off Super Mario Party. Enemies also move slower and take more damage if they're covered in ink, which allows you to line up an easy shot or grenade them to death. Ultimate will release on Nintendo Switch on December 7th.

The Nintendo Switch is no stranger to co-op oriented games as one of the console's highlight features has always been offline multiplayer.
