Kingdom Hearts 3 has a release date

After years of waiting, Square Enix has finally confirmed that Kingdom Hearts III will be released on January 29, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It's based on Disney's hit animated film Frozen.

TechRadar is reporting live from E3 in Los Angeles this week and we'll be bringing you more news and hands-on impressions of Kingdom Hearts 3 very soon. In KH3, players will be tasked with navigating a winter wonderland while guiding Elsa, of "Frozen" fame, past her feelings of self-doubt and towards a more heroic path in life.

Square Enix won't be hosting its E3 2018 press conference until tomorrow, but it's getting the announcements going a little early. The gap between Kingdom Hearts 3 and Kingdom Hearts 2 will be just over 13 years. It has sold over 24 million games since the original launched in 2002. A Fragmentary Passage was specifically touted as being a bridge between previous installment Birth By Sleep and also serving as a prologue to Kingdom Hearts III.
