While 92-year-old Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her actual birthday on April 21, the Trooping of the Colour ceremony takes place on any Saturday of June.

The entire royal family, including for the first time Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was to gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at the conclusion of the parade to watch a fly-over by the Royal Air Force. The royal sisters looked fabulous as they arrived in a horse-drawn carriage looking as stylish as ever in contrasting outfits.

Senior royals including the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall also took part in the event.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who has effectively retired from official public duties, was the only major figure missing from the gathering. She and new-husband Prince Harry were picture-perfect, as Harry chose to wear his Household Cavalry Number 1 ceremonial military uniform.

Trooping the Colour is a ceremony deeply rooted in the history of the United Kingdom. The 29-year-old teamed her frock with a crisp black blazer with cape sleeves, a coordinating green quilted bag with a gold chain and patent black court shoes with a bold strap.

While Savannah is now fifteenth in line to the throne, she definitely has taken the crown for the cheekiest seven-year-old around. And despite baring her shoulders at Trooping the Colour, Meghan looked every bit as regal as her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who wore a pale blue ensemble.

In the United Kingdom alone, around 18 million viewers tuned in to watch the Duke and Duchess of Sussex get Wednesday, with another 29.2 million watching from the US. He will celebrate his 97th birthday Sunday.

Meghan also had her hair styled in a bouncy blowout.

"I'm quite proud and I know that a lot of other people are proud of me as well", he told the broadcaster.
