Microsoft Announces Xbox Adaptive Controller For Disabled Gamers

Microsoft has worked with various charities and community groups, as well as disabled gamers, when designing to the controller to come up with the ideal design to help open up gaming to even more people. We worked closely with them and directly with gamers who have limited mobility to assist in our development.

The leakster posted, via the Twitter handle WalkingCat, what looks like a promo image for a new Xbox-branded controller-type peripheral, which is likely for the Xbox One. Two large buttons can easily be reprogrammed through the Accessories app to function as any of the standard Xbox buttons. Other organisations included The AbleGamers Foundation, The Cerebral Palsy Foundation, SpecialEffect and Warfighter Engaged. Then he hopped into the racing game Forza Horizon 3 and began playing one-handed just as well as anyone I'd seen using a traditional controller.
