The Internet has erupted into a debate about whether a short audio clip features the word "Laurel" or "Yanny", and experts said they might both be correct.

Either way, it's pretty insane that the person sitting beside you might be hearing something completely different than you hear!

On Tuesday, the internet broke out into an all-consuming debate, dividing people into two camps: those that heard "Laurel", and those that heard "Yanny". "All I hear is 'Yanny, '" said one Twitter user.

Any spoken word is made up of a variety of sounds at different pitches, or frequencies.
