A release date was not revealed, but with E3 2018 right around the corner, expect to hear more information soon.

Bethesda has released RAGE 2's official gameplay trailer for public viewing and the trailer shows off weapons and vehicles.

The first "Rage" released in October 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Bethesda is promising a "carnival of carnage where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything". The dystopian setting seems to take inspiration from the film franchise Mad Max, which makes even more sense when you realize Rage 2 is being developed in association with Avalanche Studios - the same developer behind the Mad Max game. The new trailer, which can be watched above, shows the series' combination of brutal first-person action and vehicular mayhem.

You can check out the Rage 2 teaser trailer below. While it is hard to draw a conclusion from just this one series of scenes, the clip immediately shows that Rage 2 has more character and tries to be more charming than its predecessor. You can catch the stream live on Bethesda's channels on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and website.

Contrary to what we reported yesterday, apparently Just Cause creators Avalanche will not be the only team on Rage 2 - instead it will be a collaboration between Avalanche and original developers id Software. Think of it as a sequel to Doom's glory kill system - where you previously received "just" health and ammo, Overdrive also amps your guns' abilities and increases the chances of better rewards from fallen enemies.
