Authorities on Monday for the first time detailed the disturbing conditions of the couple's home, which has shocked neighbors in the tree-lined cul-de-sac, who said they did not know 10 children were living in the house.

Jonathan Allen, 29, is charged with nine felony counts of child cruelty and seven felony counts of torture, Hurlbut said.

She described herself as an "amazing mother" and her husband, Allen, as an "amazing person".

The investigation began March 31 after the Fairfield Police Department returned a missing 12-year-old to the child's home in 2200 block of Fieldstone Court in Fairfield, about 46 miles northeast of San Francisco.

Their mom, Rogers, was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of child endangerment.

Two people were arrested after police in California say 10 children were rescued from "horrible" living conditions. Officers then conducted a "health and safety search", which led to the arrest of Rogers that day and the removal of 10 children from the home. Ina Rogers is denying the charges and says that her home was in such disarray when officers brought her 12-year-old home because she was so distraught. "You will find nothing".

"I have not had a case where we charge someone with torture of their own children if that tells you something". She said Rogers spoiled her children and the messy house was just life with children, cats, a dog and fish.

More than a month after a California mother was arrested for allegedly torturing and abusing her 10 children in Fairfield, the local police in a statement said the kids were living in "squalor and unsafe conditions". Three she had before meeting Allen and eight more in the past 10 years.

On Friday, officers arrested Allen, charging him with nine counts of felony torture and six counts of child abuse.

Washington Capitals Win Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals
The Capitals are 5-1 in their last 6 Conference Finals games, 2-5 in their last 7 Sunday games and 21-7 in their last 28 overall. I think if you bottled up all the bad things in those first 10 games, it would be half of what we did in one game last night.

The kids didn't require medical consideration once they have been eliminated.

Police Lieutenant Greg Hurlbut said that when police saw the home, it had been "unsafe and unsanitary. garbage and spoiled food on the floor, animal and human faeces and a large amount of debris making areas of the house unpassable".

She stated she feels she's being judged for having so many youngsters and selecting to home-school them.

"My husband has a lot of tattoos".

Reporters noted that during the tour, however, the house was still filthy, with scuffed walls and animal feces in the bathroom, according to the AP. "He looks like a scary individual and that's why people are so quick to judge him".

Ina Rogers of Fairfield told reporters Monday that she called authorities in March after her 12-year-old son didn't come home. "But absolutely not. My husband is an wonderful person".

Child protection officials made one prior visit to the home several years ago, Rogers said.

"She informed me she's by no means lived alone and now that her children are gone and her husband is gone, she's only a mess", Quartman stated.
