Claude Puel still has big injury worries to contend with as Matty James, Wilfred Ndidi, Daniel Amartey, Ben Chilwell, Robert Huth, Shinji Okazaki and Kasper Schmeichel are all missing through injury while Mark Albrighton is suspended.

Mauricio Pochettino has reflected on how Tottenham turned "all the negativity into a positive" during a season spent away from home. It was one point from five games before Wednesday's win over Arsenal; knives have already been sharpened.

But speaking to Spanish radio station El Transistor after the win over Newcastle, Pochettino was straight-faced in his answers about his future and insisted that Tottenham had enjoyed a good season, despite the lack of silverware.

However, forward Kelechi Iheanacho says he is excited by the prospect of playing at Wembley, with quotes that go some way to illustrating the additional fillip that many of Tottenham's opponents have had this season.

"Next season, it will be fantastic for Tottenham to be playing in a new stadium and in the Champions League". We deserve it. We've worked so hard to be at this level again. We showed that we could find solutions.

"I think Juan Foyth deserves to play and he is doing fantastic, and I will repeat that, so maybe, I am thinking, maybe it is not insane to see a player like him or Kyle Walker-Peters in the starting XI". "Another is what we are doing, to create players, like in the case of Harry Kane, Dele Alli", he said.

Pochettino also is delighting fans by his acknowledgement that Spurs are the top team in London.
