Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that he has been delighted with Bernardo Silva's form during the 2017-18 campaign.

'I can give you the latest news from doctor (Ramon) Cugat in Barcelona and it's going perfectly'.

Guardiola also branded Premier League rules that require a player to have made five appearances to qualify for a winner's medal as ridiculous, with young midfielders Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz now one short of that target. "It's something nobody ever did before, and we want to do it".

Aguero's relationship with Guardiola has been the subject of some debate after reports of clashes between the pair in the past.

"It was a very special moment [breaking the record]".

"The club, chairman and myself want him to stay a long time, renew his contract - but we are going on holiday in a few days", said Guardiola. To be part of that is something special and I'm very happy about it.

"They are all the time training with us all the time so maybe they'll be in the line-up".
