Champions Manchester City finished the season on a record 100 points after Gabriel Jesus scored with nearly the final touch against Southampton, who secured Premier League survival despite losing.

The Swans needed to beat Stoke City and have a ten goal swing against Southampton to secure their spot in the Premier League for next term, but lost 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

By matching rivals Manchester United's result on the final day of the season, they maintained their 19-point winning margin - the biggest in the Premier League era, overtaking a benchmark that has stood for 18 years.

The scary thing is, they'll probably be even better next season.

Liverpool ended up in fourth place for the second straight season. Ayoze Perez scored twice and Jonjo Shelvey also scored to clinch a Top Ten finish for the Magpies, who were in a relegation battle deep into the season.

Jenkins was conspicuous by his absence from his customary seat in the directors' box but that did not prevent Swansea supporters urging Jenkins to "get out of our club" from the first minute.
