But Jio's pack offers 1.5 GB of 4G data per day for a period of 70 days.

A telecom tariff war seems to have started afresh with state-owned telecom operator BSNL trying to match Reliance Jio's tariffs with a Rs349 pre-paid plan that comes with a validity of 54 days and offers unlimited voice calls.

The new STV-349 from BSNL is an attempt to tackle Jio's similarly priced 349 plan, although the Jio 349 pack has a few advantages over the BSNL's plan.

Under the latest plan, Vodafone is also offering unlimited local/STD and roaming calls to any network in India and 100 SMS daily along with the data offer. After Rs 99 and Rs 319 plan, the company has released a new plan of Rs 349 for it Prepaid users. Earlier, Vodafone was giving 2.5G data per day which is now revised to 3GB data per day. Alongside this plan also gives unlimited voice calling for STD and Roaming too. Then Airtel exceeds the data usage limit to 2GB, 2.5GB and now it is offering 3GB data per day.

It is now available in Assam, Mumbai, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh West/East circles. The plan also offers 100 free SMS per day. this means that users will get total 2800 SMS. This plan comes with a validity of 51 days and offers only data benefits. However, it must be noted that none of these plans provides free SMS benefit.

To recall the Rs 569 prepaid plan of Vodafone, it is very similar to the Rs 349 prepaid plan in all respects albeit a longer validity of 84 days.

Recently, Vodafone also launched two new plans in a bid to take on competitors Jio and Airtel. However, BSNL charges standard call rates for voice calls made to mobile numbers in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai telecom circles, despite the "unlimited voice call" claim, unlike private players like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone. The new plan is essentially a revamped version of the Rs. 348 plan with 500MB more data per day.
