Christina Aguilera teases new song, personal evolution in new video

"You understand it's not about music".

"I didn't get into this business to be a television show host and to be given all these [rules]", Christina told the publication. "It became something that I didn't feel was what I had signed up for in season one", she explained to Billboard.

The Grammy-winning songstress then referred to the show as an "energy sucker" before disclosing how she really felt every time she is not on the set.

It's been six long years since Christina Aguilera last released an album, but she's on the comeback trail with "Liberation", her eighth studio album that's due for release on June 15th.

Tribal-inspired drums and bass beats kickstart the song before Christina rap-sings the first verse in a style similar to Beyoncé in "7/11" and "Formation", just in a much less brash way. Though the job was a lot more comfortable than touring, which Aguilera finds slightly daunting as she hasn't gone on a full tour since her "Back to Basics" tour in 2008.

Christina Aguilera has always been a fighter, and now she's giving fans a peek behind the armor in a revealing short film detailing the inspiration for her forthcoming album Liberation.
