Calgary police believe a man in his 20s purposefully climbed inside the wall of a women's bathroom in the CORE Shopping Centre, but got stuck and died.

"Despite the circumstances of where the body was located, investigators do not suspect foul play and the death remains classified as undetermined", said a statement from the Calgary Police.

A maintenance worker made the gruesome discovery at about 9:30 a.m. on Monday in the fourth floor washroom at the Core shopping centre at Seventh Avenue and Third Street S.W., police said.

It's also not known why the man was inside the wall.

Police say his motivation for crawling inside the wall is unknown.

Police and fire services arrived at the scene shortly after to open an investigation, closing the toilet until 3pm while the body was removed.

The CDC Says Tick-Borne Diseases Are On The Rise
During the period between 2004 and 2016, not less than 9 vector-borne diseases were recorded, for the first time ever, in the US. For most of these diseases, the only way to stop outbreaks is through mosquito control, which is expensive and rarely effective.

No further details are being released at this time.

Police say the body is that of an adult male, though no identity or cause of death has been determined, the CBC reports. A security guard was directing women to another washroom a floor below, but the men's and family washrooms were still accessible.

It is believed he climbed into the pony wall through the vent, where he became stuck and later died.

"That would be the most logical ... that it was from above", Poole reportedly told The Canadian Press.

In the early afternoon, a section of the food court closest to the washroom was cordoned off entirely. The women's washroom remained closed until after 3 p.m., when the body, contained in a body bag, was wheeled out on a gurney.
