Ask Siri to define 'mother' twice. Make sure no kids are around

As another Reddit user pointed out, Siri tends to shy away from other coarse language (the user said she was a "prude" about other cursing), making this lapse all the more odd.

When you summon Siri on your phone and ask it to define the word mother, you'll find that the first definition is simple enough - giving users a straightforward definition like we'd all expect.

Asking Siri to define "mother" twice prompts a vulgar response, Apple users have discovered.

James Comey has major 'Messiah complex:' Corey Lewandowski
Comey a year ago created a series of contemporaneous memos - some classified, some not - to document his interactions with Trump. Fitzgerald misled her and withheld exculpatory evidence that would have kept her from "unwittingly giving false testimony".

The off-color original response appears to have first been noted on Reddit's Apple community, where a visitor suggested on [28 April 2018] that iPhone owners ask Siri for the alternate definition of "mother". "As a noun, it means short for motherfucker", Siri adds. You can also get Siri to curse on a Mac system running macOS.

Apple didn't suddenly program Siri to speak in vulgarities. In the Oxford Dictionary, the word is listed as a short for a "vulgar slang", but Siri does not include that descriptor and simply states the slang as it is.

All you have to do is ask Siri, "define mother". Google assistant, Amazon Alexa, Microsoft Cortana and Siri are the popular ones being used widely. A rep for Apple didn't respond to a request for comment. Instead, what's happening here is that Siri is pulling the definition from the Oxford Dictionary.
