Kendrick Lamar Awarded Pulitzer for Album Demonizing Trump, Fox News

The superstar SoCal rapper has won the Pulitzer Prize for music with his brilliant "DAMN." album.

Lamar's "DAMN" was announced as the recipient of the prestigious award on Monday, a history-making first for a rap artists, as the music award is typically given to classical or jazz works.

Lamar is known for his piercing lyrics, political statements and his fired-up (sometimes literally) performances.

Previously, the Pulitzer board has given out special honors to famous musicians Bob Dylan, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane and Hank Williams, but never a rapper and never in the music category.

Many were (rightfully) shocked when Lamar's universally acclaimed "DAMN." was bested for the 2018 Grammy for album of the year by Bruno Mars' incredibly popular, and equally mediocre, "24 Magic".

The New York Times and New Yorker magazine have won a joint Pulitzer for their reporting on sexual harassment allegations in Hollywood. The Republican former judge denied the accusations, but they factored heavily in the special election that Democrat Doug Jones went on to win.
