Siddhant's body was found submerged in the Eel River about 6 miles (9.6 kilometers) downstream from where the family auto reportedly crashed, Mendocino County Sheriff's Office Capt. Gregory L. Van Patten said in a statement.

The body was found a day after the auto with Siddhant's father and younger sister inside were pulled from the river sediment.

"Once the body was recovered it was identified as being Siddhant Thottapilly, the remaining missing member of the Thottapilly family".

The family began a trip to Portland, Oregon, in a 2016 Maroon Honda Pilot from their Valencia home on March 30.

On Monday, April 9, 2018, the California Highway Patrol became aware of an overdue family of 4, the Thottapilly family from Santa Clarita, CA, who was believed to be traveling through Humboldt and Mendocino Counties while on vacation.

Last week, the rescue team had found the body of a woman, later identified to be that of Soumya, and remains of the vehicle and the belongings of the Thottapilly family. Now, the bodies of Sandeep and his daughter Saachi have been found by the cops.

The crash site is about 200 miles (322 kilometers) northwest of San Jose.

The driver apparently had pulled off the road during a powerful storm but the SUV went over the edge of an embankment into the flooded river, sheriff's officials have said.

Farther south along the Mendocino County coast, authorities continue to look for members of a family missing since an SUV made a deadly and possibly intentional plunge off a towering ocean bluff along State Route 1 last month. Just before noon, searchers aboard a boat smelled gas coming from the water below, according to the statement. Reportedly, the bodies were spotted inside the vehicle in which the family had crashed into the river.

Three of the children have not been found.

Bodies of Thottapilly and his daughter were found inside the SUV lying submerged between 4 and 6 feet of water.
