Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees has been postponed, but they haven't given up on playing Game 2 just yet.

The mixture of cold, ice, hail and snow ripping through MI postponed baseball games for the Lansing Lugnuts and the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

The postponement marks the Tigers' fourth of the season, all coming at Comerica Park. Both games will be televised on FOX Sports Detroit. This decision coincides with this year's baseball calendar schedule including four extra days off for teams.

The Yankees will return to Detroit on June 4 to play a split doubleheader at 1:10 p.m. and 7:10 p.m., the Tigers announced. Fans unable to attend the rescheduled game may exchange their unused tickets at any time for any future similar-or-lesser priced regular season game in the next 12 months, excluding Opening Day 2019. The Tigers open up a three-game series with the Orioles on Tuesday. Yet they're still holding out hope they can play the nightcap, now scheduled for 7:10.

The Tigers will stay in rotation through Sunday's split doubleheader.

The Yankees beat the Tigers 8-6 on Friday in the first game of their three-game series.
