Batting trio Fakhar Zaman, Usman Salahuddin and Saad Ali could all be handed debuts on the trip, while there is also a place for left-hander Imam-ul-Haq, the nephew of former captainInzamam-ul-Haq who is now chief selector for the national team.

Pakistan included five uncapped players in their Test squad for the upcoming tour to Ireland and England.

Azhar Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Sami Aslam have been included in the squad as opening batsmen.

Inzamam-ul-Haq has said at a press conference that the World Cup next year is in England, so we have decided to make several young players a part of the England and Ireland tests to give them exposure to the conditions.

Despite it being one of his worse seasons in the domestic circuit, Fawad was the sixth highest run-scorer of the tournament with 570 runs at an average just above 40. Attempting to make up for his absence will be Shadab Khan, who has played a solitary Test, against the Windies previous year.

Leg-spinner Shadab Khan replaced the injured Yasir Shah.
