The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office said authorities had been investigating Ecker since January 12 after someone reported that Ecker allowed her toddler to do drugs. Those same witnesses told police they heard that Ecker, an alleged meth user, also gave her child meth to smoke from a pipe.

Investigators also took samples of Ecker and the child's hair and blood to understand their history; the results of the tests came out in March.

The same day, Ecker was arrested by authority of the arrest warrant and was booked into the Wakulla County Jail.

When faced with the charges, the woman confessed to coaxing her child into smoking meth and sometimes marijuana. Instead, Limpert "proceeded to place [the child] into their backyard pool to use the cold water to "shock" her", the police report said. Additionally, on Thursday, she was charged with lewd and lascivious battery and transmission of harmful material to a minor in connection with a separate, unrelated case, according to police.

Ecker told police she shared a bedroom with her child and admitted she had smoked marijuana and methamphetamine, but said she never did drugs in the presence of her child and her child had never been exposed to drugs. The two glass pipes tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the cops.

Autumn Sienna Heinz, a Montana daycare worker who worked with infants, has been accused of smoking meth while on the job, using a "drug den" built below a cabinet.

Ecker was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia on that date.

That led them to conduct toxicology tests on both Ecker and the 2-year-old child, who was not identified by name by police. "Chronic" indicated that the two-year old was exposed "several times or on one or more occasions".

The sheriff's office did not elaborate on the relationship between Ecker and the child, but The Miami Herald reported the 2-year-old was Ecker's daughter. Additionally, Ecker also denied owning the pipes. Earlier in the week, a Texas mother was charged with child abuse after her baby tested positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana, News Channel 6 Now reported.

It is unclear if Ecker is the child's mother.
