"The use of chemical weapons crosses a red line that humanity can no longer tolerate", Mr Yoav Gallant, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's security Cabinet, wrote on Twitter.

Khamenei has harshly responded to the Syrian operation of the West Coalition, APA reports.

The U.K., U.S. and France launched the attacks near Damascus early Saturday.

The European Union on Saturday warned of fresh economic sanctions, should Syria continue to use chemical weapons.

The Jewish state has not commented on the attack, but the United States said that Israel had warned it about the attack beforehand.

"These are not the actions of a man", Trump said of last weekend's attack in a televised address from the White House Diplomatic Room. "Tonight, led by the Americans, the US, France and Britain acted appropriately", said a statement attributed to an unnamed official in Jerusalem.

On a cost-benefit analysis the Kremlin has more to lose from any escalation - or a prolonging of the 7-year-old, multisided Syria conflict now that their longtime ally Assad, thanks to Russian and Iranian military assistance, has swung the battlefield decidedly in his favor and has all but won the civil war.

Russian Federation has warned the West not to make any "dangerous" moves against its ally Assad's regime.

"This is unprecedented in seven years: that Israel directly targets Iran's Revolutionary Guard", Nasrallah said.

The statement came shortly after US, UK and French forces struck Syria with over 100 missiles.

The US and its allies launched more than 100 strikes on Syria in a "one-time shot", officials at the Pentagon said.

"The aggression is in blatant violation of the worldwide rules and regulations and ignores Syria's rights to national sovereignty and territorial integrity", the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

General Joe Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the strikes hit targets related to Syria's chemical weapons program - a scientific research center near Damascus, a weapons storage facility west of Homs, and a third location nearby containing a command post and an equipment storage facility.

He stressed that missile strikes at Syria are "justified". "We thank them both", Trump added.

His remarks came after President Donald Trump announced targeted strikes on Syria in collaboration with the United Kingdom and France to retaliate against the April 7 chemical attack in the Syrian town of Duma.

Israel's Channel 10 TV said the Iranian drone was launched from the T4 base and marked the first time Iran directly attacked Israel, rather than through Hezbollah. He's also going to hold the Russians and the Iranians who are propping up this regime responsible.

Meanwhile, May said the missile strike, created to minimise civilian casualties, was aimed at deterring further use of chemical weapons and was not an attempt to topple the Syrian government.

Ali Shirazi, liaison for Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the elite Quds Force, threatened that Tehran will destroy Israel if it doesn't stop its "childish game".
