Google is reportedly working on an overhaul of Gmail for web which will see a new design along with several new features, including a Confidential Mode.

The Gmail overhaul, apart from a complete redesign, will also pack a handful of modern features you usually find on third-party clients. Among the more intriguing-sounding innovations: a "Confidential Mode" that keeps email protected by not allowing the recipient to forward it, cut and paste from it, print from it, or download it, per TechCrunch-though more than one source points out there's nothing stopping someone from simply taking a picture of the email, either via a computer screenshot or with a camera.

But while the leaked screenshots showed numerous big changes in Gmail, info about a new feature that lets users send self-destructing emails is only starting to trickle out now.

The receivers will need to log in again in Gmail to access the message. In 2017, Gmail had 1.2 billion active worldwide users.

Beyond that, judging by screenshots sent to TechCrunch, Gmail users will be able to choose when the email expires and disappears into the ether.
