Remains found in Nevada County may be missing Hollywood actress

Authorities added that they believe that Christopher Spotz, a 33-year-old man believed to be Shabani's boyfriend who fatally shot himself during a police chase on Thursday, was involved in her death but could not elaborate.

A shallow grave was discovered in Northern California during the search for a missing actress, authorities announced Tuesday.

Shabani, 25, was last seen on security camera around 1:15 p.m. on February 23 near her Hollywood home, police said. Spotz appeared in various short films over the past three years and had a minor role in a forthcoming web series called "The Shoaks", according to

Los Angeles police Tuesday told CBS2 that a bulletin had been put out on the pickup because it was associated with a missing person. Hayes said detectives found nothing that corroborated that statement. A search of that area uncovered what is believed to be a shallow grave, he said.

Detectives issued a warrant for Spotz's truck. The pursuit began when CHP spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over.

Hayes said detectives suspect that Shabani has been dead for more than a month.

She came from Macedonia and had been in Los Angeles less than two years, according to her friends.

Shabani was a student at Stella Adler Academy of Acting, located in the heart of Hollywood, across the street from where the Oscars are held. Some dream. I think it's being a dreamer as a child. Her family had hired a private investigator to help find their missing daughter.

A spokesperson for the LAPD told People magazine Saturday that Shabani's disappearance was still considered a missing person's case and not a murder investigation.
