While I haven't been able to try out the new feature yet, Brief Mode has appeared in the Alexa iOS app on my iPhone X. When Alexa is asked to change the state of the smart home device, the Brief Mode gets activated and Alexa performs the task and responds us with a confirmation chime. Several people on reddit have reported receiving the new capability on some of their Echo devices, but some say the new ability disappeared a few hours later.

This feature was rolled out in a beta version to Amazon Unlimited music users along with the Prime Music subscribers in the US. While Alexa may be ready to switch into Brief Mode, an update to the Alexa app that lets you control Brief Mode may not be as ready.

Reddit users at /r/AmazonEcho spotted the interesting new feature in Amazon Echo that makes Alexa less talkative and more efficient. An Amazon spokesperson said that " the new setting for Alexa will be available very soon" but not specified the time when it will be out. The assistant will play short sounds instead of voice responses.
