The ill-fated tour's second match saw the islanders targeted in a terrorist attack, following which global teams opted against visiting Pakistan, forcing the PCB to organise its home series in UAE.

Pakistan will play West Indies in Karachi. "This is part of our agreement with the West Indies board", Sethi told reporters, adding PCB was unlikely to make any profit from the series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said on Monday that the West Indies will tour Pakistan early next month to play a three-match Twenty20 global series in the southern port city of Karachi. There has been a slow trickle of worldwide teams returning to Pakistan since 2015, with Zimbabwe, a World XI, and most recently Sri Lanka making short visits for limited-overs games, but all of them were confined to the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore.

While the attack took place in Lahore, global teams ceased their tours of Pakistan, with the national side forced to play their home matches in the United Arab Emirates.

"They will not play in Lahore but in Karachi".

"Good news is that West Indies will play three games but these matches will be played in Karachi". The final of the second edition of PSL was hosted by Lahore and many global cricketers agreed to play that.

Karachi will also host the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on March 25. "The idea wasn't to make money, it was to bring cricket back, so this is a step in that direction". "Karachi people should welcome this". "While West Indies tour to Pakistan is a one-off series, we are also in consultation with the WIC on a tri-series, also involving Bangladesh in first year, for a period of five years", said Sethi. He will there to assess security arrangement for the T20I series.

The news was shared by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi on Sunday.
