TVS Apache RTR 160 4V First Look Review - The Track-Ready Commuter

It was during the launch of Apache RR310cc in December previous year, company joint managing director, Sudarshan Venu had announced that they would launch 160cc Apache variant "very shortly". The model also comes equipped with a front disc brake as standard from the base variant while the the rear disc can be had with the Carb variant as well as the EFI variant. The styling comes from the larger TVS Apache RTR 200 4V but at a lower price point, the 160-cc-engined motorcycle is ready to leave a mark.

Staying true to its racing pedigree, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has the most powerful 160cc engine, enabling the best performance in its class and boasts of a top speed of 114 kmph (EFI), 113 kmph (Carb).

The fuel injected variant produces 16.56bhp, whereas the carburetted variant churns out 16.28bhp. It also retails TVS Victor, Star City+ in the commuter segment. The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit, and the motorcycle gets three paint schemes - Red, Blue and Black. The new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is an exciting addition to the TVS Apache RTR series.

It features a new 160cc, four-stroke engine that's air cooled. The 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is based on a completely new 4-valve platform, giving it new styling and design, new suspension and chassis and significant updates to the engine as well.

The only thing missing is the ABS. However, the RTR 160 does feature a different centre panel.
