Fans of the sci-fi/action genre are in for some bad news, as 20th Century Fox has pushed back the release dates for both Alita: Battle Angel and Shane Black's The Predator. Sadly, I'll have to wait several months longer, as it's been pushed back from July 20 to December 21, 2018. The new date brings with it some heavy competition for the cyberpunk film, with Warner Bros.' Aquaman and Paramount's Transformers spinoff Bumblebee set to debut that same weekend.

Shane Black's Predator reboot is switching places with fellow Fox title The Darkest Minds, with the latter hitting theaters August 3 and the former taking the September 14 slot. The other films scheduled for that date are Alpha and Fighting With My Family.

Additionally, Fox set a November 8, 2019 release date for "Death on the Nile", directed by Kenneth Branagh and based on the Agatha Christie mystery.

Alita: Battle Angel is a film based on the cyberpunk action manga Battle Angel Alita, created by Yukito Kishiro.

We're all excited for Shane Black's The Predator.

The Predator stars Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhode, Boyd Holbrook, Strerling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Niall Matter, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Edward James Olmos and Jacob Tremblay. The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau from a screenplay by Cameron, Rodriguez, and Laeta Kalogridis. The story is set in a 26th-century dystopian future and follows an amnesiac cyborg - played by Salazar - who's rescued from a scrap heap and becomes a bounty hunter tracking down criminals.

The first trailer for Alita: Battle Angel was released in December. A growing affection develops between the two until deadly forces come after Alita and threaten her newfound relationships.

Fox is also looking ahead past 2018. The Kenneth Branagh-backed project will go up against Disney's holiday film comedy Nicole, starring Anna Kendrick. There are now no details on the movie.
