Police confirm 25 killed in central Nigeria attack

Meanwhile, seven people were killed and one injured in an attack on Hirshi, a village in Bassa Local Government of Plateau, Maj.

Those killed in the attack are 19 men, three women and three children.

The development was confirmed by the Special Task Force providing security in Plateau State, the Plateau State Police Command and the Irigwe Development Association.

No fewer than 25 persons have been killed by suspected herdsmen in another attack in Plateau State.

Daniel Kadzia, the village head, said the attackers invaded the village after noticing that the youth and men had gone for mining. "I shall inform you when the details of the attack are made available".

Inspite of these attacks, President Muhammadu Buhari, has vowed to end the violence that has claimed hundreds of lives in several states in the country.

The latest attack comes days after at least 16 people were killed when suspected herdsmen attacked another Plateau community.
