Singer Aditya Narayan detained by cops after injuring two in road accident

Playback singer Aditya Narayan was today arrested and later released on bail after he allegedly rammed his luxury auto into an autorickshaw in suburban Andheri, leaving two persons injured, police said.

The auto driver and passenger Rajkumar Baburao Palekar (64) sustained head injuries whereas onboard passenger Surekha Ankush Shivekar's (32) left leg got fractured as the autorickshaw turned turtle after the accident. "Apparently, he took a wrong U-turn, leading to the accident". Police arrested the singer and sent him for medical tests.

Aditya Narayan has gotten bail after he was jailed for slamming an auto rickshaw with his vehicle, which caused severe injury to the driver and the passenger in it. Aditya has been granted bail on the guarantee of Rs 10, 000, and he has been asked to remain in the police station for the day. The condition of the auto rickshaw driver is being reported as critical, however, there has been no fatality in the accident yet. "We will take further action once he is discharged", said Kiran Kale, senior inspector, Versova police station.

On Monday, Aditya Narayan, who was driving a Mercedes sedan on the back road of Lokhandwala, rammed into a rickshaw. Police officers say that it did not look like a case a drunk driving.

According to the airline, Narayan was asked to pay Rs 13,000 for the excess baggage he was carrying on the Raipur-Mumbai flight, which he blatantly refused and thereafter used "unparliamentary language" with a female staff member.
