Paralympics games kick off in South Korea

Alpine skiers and biathletes return to action where more medals will be up for grabs while round-robin play continues in wheelchair curling.

The US team, the biggest at the Winter Paralympics with 69 athletes, was at the head with unexpected victories of the biathlon combining skiing and shooting.

Taras finished ahead of USA athletes Daniel Cnossen and Andrew Soule who took silver and bronze respectively.

In the men's 7.5km sitting biathlon another American came out on top, with Daniel Cnossen winning gold. He previously won the gold medal at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Ramsay and Jepsen look to add another medal in the women's standing category.
