Behar's controversial comments resulted in the Media Research Center launching a campaign to hold Behar accountable for spewing "anti-Christian bigotry" after she said that communicating with Jesus is a "mental illness" during a February 13 episode of "The View" when discussing Pence's faith. "She called me. She was very honest, and she apologized and one of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you've been forgiven", Pence told Sean Hannity. "I was raised to respect everyone's religious faith and I fell short of that", Behar said at the top of the show.

When former White House staffer and reality show star Omarosa Manigault spoke of Pence on her new show "Big Brother", she alleged that the vice president heard the voice of Jesus.

"You know, I give Joy Behar a lot of credit", Pence told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Monday.

Pence said he accepted Behar's apology and asked her to make a broader one.

"I just think it demonstrates how out-of-touch some in the mainstream media are with the faith and values of the American people", he said.

The Taliban also says that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation forces must withdraw before negotiations can begin. This is Mattis's second visit to the war-torn country after he last visited in September.

The Washington Post also talked to Behar's manager Bill Stankey, who confirmed that she really apologized to the vice president through a phone call. He said at a meeting with investors, "Joy Behar apologized to Vice President Pence directly". However, the Vice President made it clear that he wasn't offended out of self-concern but on behalf of the millions of Christians who watch The View.

On Tuesday's edition of "The View", Behar publicly apologized, noting that the vice-president had encouraged her to do so.

"I said to Joy, 'Of course, I forgive you". Today, we begin round 5 (?) of this story with an interview with Mike Pence set to air on Hannity tonight.

"The bigoted statements made about the Vice President's Christian faith offended hundreds of millions of Christians across the country, the largest faith group in the United States", Bozell told Fox News.
