Bright outlook for Florida hiring, ManpowerGroup says

The latest release by the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey says local employers expect a limited hiring climate for the second quarter of 2018 in the city.

The best bets for finding a job this spring are in the public administration sector, according to Manpower. "In the coming times, technology will change the job market dynamics and individuals need to adopt skill set to continue to remain employable", said A G Rao, Group MD at ManpowerGroup India. The weakest outlooks are reported in Mining (+15%), Government Information (+14%) and Nondurable Goods Manufacturing (+12%).

Hiring prospects weaken in three of the four regions when compared with the previous quarter.

Globally, among the countries and territories featuring seasonally adjusted data, confidence is strongest in Taiwan, Japan, Hungary and the U.S., while the weakest hiring prospects are reported in Italy, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, the survey said. 0 per cent expressed any expectations to reduce payrolls in the next three months. Employers report the strongest hiring intentions in Leisure & Hospitality (+28%) as the economy picks up.

Outlooks of +10% and +9% are reported in the wholesale and retail trade sector, and the manufacturing sector, respectively, while services sector employers report an outlook of +8%. Employers in the South and the West report relatively stable hiring intentions when compared with the second quarter of 2017. "While Canada experienced a net loss of jobs in January, prospects for the upcoming quarter remain strong, led by exceptionally strong growth in Quebec where employers are hiring across multiple sectors".

Meanwhile, the hiring scene is looking up in other countries, too.

The ManpowerGroup interviewed 58,000 employers in 43 countries and territories and especially 46000 employers in India as their sample size for the employment outlook survey.
