Robinson is coming off a knee injury, but Blanton is still convinced that signing him will bring more good than harm to the Bears.

The tampering period for free agency started this afternoon and teams have already been making moves. It looks like the Bears made an early push.

Robinson will walk into an immediate No. 1 role with the Bears, who are now project to start Robinson and Kevin White on the perimeter, with Cameron Meredith in the slot. The veteran wide receiver is expected to get a lot of attention on the market, and Blanton said that Chicago should do a "full court press" to land Robinson this offseason. They have the right of first refusal. "I just have to narrow it down and pick the best one". He could be back with the team since they have no long snapper on the roster.

Robinson, 24, tore his left ACL in the first series of the Jaguars' regular-season opener in 2017 but has 202 receptions for 2,848 yards and 22 TDs since Jacksonville drafted him in the second round in 2014.

'American Idol': 5 Audition Highlights From the Premiere & More Thoughts
ABC says the Deception premiere was its best scripted bow in the time period since the beginning of Quantico in September of 2015. About two years after " American Idol " aired its "farewell season"...well, it's back.

A return to his form in the 2015 season, when Robinson caught 80 passes for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns, would certainly help them achieve that ambition.

Restricted free agents are players with three accrued seasons. A corner-needy team could come calling for Callahan's services. The Bears benefit from landing a true No. 1 receiver they've been lacking since Alshon Jeffery went to Philadelphia on a one-year deal last spring. Enough so, that the team announced that the 28-year-old has been re-signed for two more years.

The Bears won't tender long snapper Patrick Scales, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Scales missed the 2017 season with a torn ACL but was the Bears' long snapper in all 16 games in 2016.
