Speaking to ITV after the Gunners embarrassing2-1 defeat at the hands of Swedish side Östersunds FK in their UEFA Europa League last-32 fixture, Keane launched a scathing attack on the England global.

Exit talk is now building around England global Wilshere, as he continues to head towards free agency, but Wenger hopes a deal, which has been mooted for some time, will soon be signed.

Arsene Wenger is hopeful that Arsenal stars Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck will sign new contracts with the club "very quickly".

But perhaps his most outrageous to date happened following Arsenal suffered a woeful defeat to Swedish side Östersunds, last night.

Keane then took aim at Jack Wilshere, Arsenal's captain on the night. Was it one of his better performances? The former Manchester United captain said Wenger's side were "a great example of how not to start a game of football".

'We can talk about being a shambles but they're so slow out of the blocks - poor attitude.

'The manager summed it up. "When Wilshere is your captain.to me, he is probably the most overrated player on the planet".

Jack Wilshere should be less anxious about stinging criticism from Roy Keane and more about where he might fit into the Arsenal side. "You're looking for your senior players to lead by example".

"And they got lucky with the result at the end of it". But if you start a game slowly, no matter how good you are, it's hard to get going. "You were just a poor man's Paul Scholes".

Discussions with Welbeck may have to wait, with Arsenal's focus at present locked on a Europa League last-32 clash with Ostersunds, a Carabao Cup final meeting with Manchester City and an ongoing battle to try and secure a top-four finish in the Premier League.
