You won't have to wait almost as long for the second season of the new Cosmos as you did for the first. The trio have all been spending a lot of time among the cosmos lately as the team behind Fox's The Orville.

Top astrophysicist and TV personality Neil deGrasse Tyson returns as host of the series, scheduled to premiere globally in Spring 2019. The announcement was made at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday.

While you wait for the next season, enjoy this gem from Carl Sagan, the beloved astronomer who first brought COSMOS to life in 1980. She and Steven Soter, another writer from the original show, won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming in 2014 for the show's first season.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane will serve as executive producer of the show, just as he did when it was revived back in 2015.

Cosmos: Possible Worlds is produced by Cosmos Studios, the Ithaca, NY-based company Ann Druyan co-founded in 2000, and Fuzzy Door Productions, Seth MacFarlane's company. The series will also debut internationally through National Geographic.

To prepare fans for the new season, which will "venture to previously uncharted territories", Cosmos has released a brief teaser to push its audience past even the farthest explored reaches that the series has touched.
