Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish allegedly chased Varnika Kundu - a disc jockey by profession - in their auto while she was returning home from Chandigarh on August 4, 2017. All charges levelled against me are false and baseless.

He rues the fact that "In these past five months, not once was I asked what were the real facts. Many people believed I was guilty", says Vikas in the two-minute video.

On Friday, a day after getting bail, Vikas's photos with his mother at a temple, were released just hours after he came out of the prison. "They went through unbearable pain and suffered untold trauma".

In the video, Vikas is apparently reading from a script.

Supporting his stand on being wrongly targeted, Vikas reiterates: "There are no charges of eve-teasing or molestation against me either in the FIR or in the court. These are all false and baseless, they are all rumours".

Admitting to the fact that his initial reaction after being arrested again in the case was one of anger and disbelief, Barala said he calmed himself down during the custody and tried hard to keep a positive frame of mind.

When contacted, Varnika Kundu termed the video a "PR stunt". She was driving by herself in Chandigarh when the duo began to follow her.
