AMD will fix DX9 Game Related Adrenalin Driver Issues With a Hotfix

Recently, we've written an article regarding the existence of a major bug that was discovered on AMD's Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition Driver. Command and Conquer 3, Command and Conquer Red Alert 3, Command and Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight, Battle for Middle Earth 1 and 2, and The Witcher Enhanced Edition are among the DirectX 9 titles that have been reported as buggy under the new driver. It's not the ideal solution, but if you are only playing the occasional DX9-only title this issue is not the end of the world. There are surely still a good number of players of these classic RTS games and the other games bullet pointed, even though they might be a decade old or more.

Yesterday, we informed you about a ridiculous statement from one of AMD's technical support engineers who claimed that the newly introduced crashing issues on some DX9 wouldn't be addressed via a future update. It's no surprise that DirectX 9 would be a sticking point for gamers due to its impact on gaming since its arrival in 2002. As well as the above crashing upon startup games, the list includes; Skyrim, Tales of Berseria, Payday 2 (works, but unstable), Source engine games (unstable), and Spellforce 2. These titles seem to be having little issue with the new drivers, however, pointing to what is possibly a more localised issue. Other more cautious types might be waiting a few revisions for any big issues to be come to light and be fixed by AMD. Fortunately, Terry Makedon-director of roadmap, strategy, marketing and user experience for AMD GPU software-says AMD is hard at work on a hotfix for at least some of the affected titles. However, it seems like AMD underestimated the breadth of the issue at that time.

Integral development, in fact, is intertwined with the need for disarmament, he said. Pope Francis is also bishop of the Italian capital.

Unfortunately for the red team, the damage has already been dealt to their driver reputation among some communities - just as public opinion was on the rise for the Radeon driver team, and not long after what was otherwise a step in the right direction with their Adrenalin update.
