President Donald Trump unloaded on a Democratic senator and the Russian Federation investigation in a series of tweets on Wednesday.

What we do know is that in the middle of a contentious campaign for the presidency, Democrats paid Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Trump.

The transcript, of an interview that Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson gave the Senate Judiciary Committee, was released by the committee's top Democrat, Sen.

The document reveals that investigators looked at the financing of Mr Trump's courses at Turnberry, Ayrshire, and Menie in Aberdeenshire.

"They believed Chris's information might be credible because they had other intelligence that indicated the same thing and one of those pieces of intelligence was a human source from inside the Trump organization", Simpson told the investigators.

"If the president can't control himself and lead this country with the authority, dignity and leadership it requires, then he shouldn't be the president", she added.

The lengthy transcript was released over the objections of Republicans, who have been sharply critical of Simpson's firm, Fusion GPS.

Feinstein said at the time, "I wasn't consulted about this referral, nor were any of my Democratic colleagues". Feinstein's release adds to the partisan tensions on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The dossier is a compilation of memos written by Steele during the 2016 campaign that contained allegations of connections between Trump and Russian Federation, including that Trump had been compromised by the Kremlin.

The fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation believed the dossier was credible because of Papadopoulos - shows how little the Federal Bureau of Investigation had to verify the dossier and its claims. Sheldon Whitehouse and Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to Republican Sen.

Trump said "we'll see what happens" when asked if he'd provide an interview to Mueller's team. Chuck Grassley, the committee's chairman, calling on him to release the transcript of the committee's interview with Simpson, but Grassley refused to do so.

Also on Tuesday, a group of House of Representatives Democrats wrote to Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan asking his party to "fully investigate" possible Russian interference in USA elections.

"The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice", she said.

"We ask you to change course and begin demonstrating true leadership on this national security issue", said the letter, released a year after USA intelligence agencies reported their findings that Russian Federation had sought to intervene in the 2016 election on Trump's behalf.
