Police chase involving Greyhound bus ends in Lake County

The pursuit crossed into Illinois and concluded at the I-94 eastbound exit ramp to Illinois Route 173 where the suspect was taken into custody, Illinois State Police said.

The pursuit crossed into IL and the bus eventually stopped near the exit ramp to Route 173. A Greyhound spokesperson said 50 passengers were on the bus from Milwaukee to Chicago when an "incident" involving a possible gunman occurred at around 9:50 p.m.

Around midnight Saturday local time, CBS Chicago reported that Illinois State Police appeared to have "neutralized" the situation.

Approximately 40 passengers aboard the bus have been safely removed - and there are no injuries reported.
