Adrien Saddier set a new course record to join Chris Paisley in a four-shot lead at the top of the SA Open leaderboard on Friday. They share the fourth spot at 8 under along with two-time U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen and Zimbabwe's Scott Vincent.

Both Paisley and Saddier are seeking a maiden European Tour title.

Chase Koepka, brother to US Open champion Brooks, moved into a three-player group on twelve-under thanks to a four-under 68 which included a long-distance birdie at the last.

Paisley said: "I can't wait for the weekend". "Obviously, I have never been in this position before, so tomorrow, I'm just going to go and play and do my best".

After four front-nine birdies, he picked up three more during the inward trek but also bogeyed a couple of holes.

The cleanup was going on near where Weimer's missing parents, Jim and Alice Mitchell, lived. "We should have heeded the warning". He did not believe, he said Thursday, that there are 43 more dead to be discovered, or even a figure close to that.

"At the moment it is weird - I feel like I did not play incredible golf".

Frenchman Saddier produced a fine birdie-eagle-birdie finish to sign for a brilliant and unprecedented nine-under 63 at the Glendower Golf Club. Like Paisley, he has one Challenge Tour victory, the 2016 Fred Olsen Challenge de España.

"The finish was awesome after making three birdies in a row on 15, 16 and 17", said Saddier.

"I know Stormy and Andy pretty well".

Retief Goosen, a two-time US Open victor, faltered at the last on Friday with a double-bogey six and lost further ground on the field with a one-over 73 to finish at seven under heading into the final round, while Ernie Els carded a two-under 70 to sit 10 shots off the lead at five under. He ticked three holes on his way to the turn (at 2, 6 and 8), but he may be forgiven for hiding in the toilets at the halfway hut on the final lap because so far this week he has always made bogey at No. 10.
