Modi remembers Lal Bahadur Shastri's courageous leadership

Vivek Agnihotri, the Bollywood director, has announced a film on how Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri must have died on 11 January 1966.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute in a tweet, "We pay homage to Shastriji on his punya tithi (death anniversary)".

Lal Bahadur Shastri, one of the greatest Indian leaders, played an important role in the freedom movement.

According to reports in a leading media portal, the filmmaker has roped in veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty for the film, which aims to investigate the "mysterious death" of the leader. "I am trying to delve further into this mystery through THE TASHKENT FILES".

"Both Naseeruddin and Mithun are powerhouses and were obvious choices for the film. The two are extremely excited about the project and I am sure the audience will be waiting to see them in this new avatar", he said in a press statement. Shah and Chakraborty come together for the fifth time after last working together 33 years ago.
