If you want to get from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach on the all new Brightline high speed train, we now know how much it will cost you.

The Brightline train is about to leave the station.

Hop on the trains and check out the Smart and Select Coaches, the leather seats, the technology, food services, and even the touchless restrooms. Seniors, active military and veterans will receive a 10 percent pricing discount, and kids 12 years old and under will receive a 50 percent pricing discount.

Over the past month, the company has been operating simulated service to prepare for operational readiness. It has received all of those approvals and is sorting through financing options for what would be a $1 billion project to extend the train to Orlando, though opposition, including in the Florida Legislature, continues. A segment is one way between Brightline's West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale stations.

Meanwhile, Brightline announced that Patrick Goddard has been promoted to president.

Initial service will include 10 daily round trips on weekdays and nine on weekends between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET, but schedules will vary day-to-day, Brightline officials said.

Brightline on Thursday afternoon tweeted that its new ticketing website was experiencing delays and "booking glitches" as a result of "overwhelming excitement".

"We believe the comfort and convenience of our travel experience, paired with premium hospitality, will set a new standard for passenger rail service", Goddard said in a statement. Construction on Phase 2, connecting to the Orlando International Airport, will begin in 2018.
