American video game designer Jordan Mechner was the original creator of the series, and was heavily involved in the 2013 film adaptation of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

TV host Chrissy Teigen posted on Twitter asking whether Prince of Persia was still around as she was a fan of the series.

Although Prince of Persia was an extremely favored and well-known franchise at one point in time, the series' popularity dwindled, particularly during the last generation of consoles.

Prince of Persia was definitely a worthy mention for its era. Mechner saw the tweet and responded himself, saying that other fans have asked similar questions and that he's trying his best to make it happen.

That said, though, Ubisoft could very well surprise the world in 2018 by granting Mechner his wish of working on another game in the series.
