As we mentioned, a tweet posted on the OnePlus Deutschland (German) official Twitter handle mentions that the Android 8.0 Oreo open beta rollout for the OnePlus 5T "starts now".

Owners of the LG G6 are getting close to becoming part of an exclusive club of Android 8.0 Oreo users.

However we can assume that the fact that the beta is being pushed out to more users is a sign that LG is confident that the update is good enough, at least so far. Well now, the company has rolled out the Android Oreo update for OnePlus 5T, however, it's in the form of a beta update. The company confirmed that the OxygenOS 5.0, which is based on Android Oreo, is reaching OnePlus 5 users.

The Oxygen OS Open Beta 1 for OnePlus 5T brings Android Oreo to the device. But for those who are not planning for an upgrade anytime soon, hopefully, the Oreo update will help them keep things fresh for a while. The smartphone falls in the high-end smartphone category.

With the new Android Oreo update, the phone will get a list of new features to the device.

As is often the case, the new update is pushed via OTA (over the air). However, the device also received one interesting feature that many weren't expecting for sure.

The OnePlus 5T's software experience is already pretty fantastic, but additions like picture-in-picture, Google's Autofill API, and adaptive notification icons will only make it better. This means that the Android Oreo beta build should be available for OnePlus 5T users.
