Kwara FC Players, Officials Escape Death

Ilorin - A player and two officials of Kwara United FC of Ilorin were on Wednesday injured when a bus conveying the team got involved in an accident in Ibadan.

The club has also expressed gratitude to God and those who have shown concern since the news broke.

He said that the accident occurred when the bus attempted to avoid hitting a vehicle.

He said that the degree of the accident was high but God saved all the lives involved.

From pictures circulating on social media, the Kwara United's team bus has been badly damaged from the crash. They were returning to their base in Kwara when the accident occurred.

Kwara United were heading home after participating in the super four in Lagos.

"I want to thank God for our lives because the accident was more than the eyes could see".

"Three out of the people on board sustained various degrees of injuries and have since been taken to hospital for medical attention, " he said. "Since the bulk of the players needed to play the match were not injured, they should be able to play the match", he said.

The team are expected to host Niger Tornadoes on Sunday in its first game of the NPFL season.

A player and two officials were injured; they are responding to treatment.
