Those who happen to use excessive internet data can buy a plan for anywhere between Rs 300 to Rs 350 a month, or 28 days to be precise. Further, Jio also offers unlimited voice calls on all networks in India, 100 SMSs daily, and free subscription to Jio apps.

Vodafone offers 1GB 4G/3G data per day at Rs 509. All three Airtel plans come with 1GB data per day, free calls, and other freebies. This is similar to Reliance Jio's recently launched Happy New Year 2018 pack that provides 1.2GB 4G data on a daily basis at the same price of Rs. 199 with 28 days validity period.

Meanwhile, BSNL has extended the validity of select prepaid mobile plans by 43 percent and increased the data offered by 50 percent.

Other freebies with the two recharge packs include unlimited calls to any network across India (up to 250 minutes a day, 1,000 minutes a week), no charges for calls on roaming, and 100 SMSes per day. In all other circles, buyers will get 84-day and 91-day validity with the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 prepaid packs. It was 91GB previously. Similarly, Rs 349 and Rs 429 plans will get 1GB data per day with 54 days and 81 days validity, respectively.

As per BSNL, the new promotional offer is based on the Digital India initiative of the government and is all set to help subscribers in experiencing the Internet for the first time.

Reliance Jio has updated all of its plans and started giving extra data and validity. Interestingly, in Odisha, Rajasthan and Haryana circles, both the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 plans offer validity of 84 days, which essentially leaves the latter redundant.

Vodafone had announced its prepaid plans priced at ₹458 and ₹509 back in November past year. This means users will get 84GB data in total instead of 70GB. Airtel had a Rs. 199 prepaid pack to compete with Jio's pack at the same rate.
