Ibaka departed after scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds. Their win over Toronto last night moved them to fourth in the East with a 23-17 record. The Raptors sat him down for a game because he was involved in a physical altercation with an unnamed member of the team's staff following a game in Oklahoma City on December 27.

Problem is, the Raptors are not expected to send their best unit onto the floor, so using the upcoming games as a litmus test for their own progress will be hard.

Lowry's back injury, suffered late in Toronto's OT victory in Brooklyn, pushed Delon Wright into the starting lineup at the point. It is not known how long Lowry will be out. Ibaka and Johnson will be missed.

Also, Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan was fined $25,000 and Miami guard Goran Dragic was docked $10,000 for a verbal altercation shortly after the game concluded.

The Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat don't like each other.

In addition to his team-high 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting, Dragić also had a game-high nine assists. Of that average, 30 per cent come from three-point shots.

The Raptors had trouble making shots all night.

Ellington has been fantastic for the Heat this season and leads the team in three-point shooting, making 41 percent of his attempts.

That said, the Cleveland Cavaliers are kind of a mess right now.

The shooting guard signed a deal with the Miami Heat ahead of the 2016-17 National Basketball Association season, marking the seventh team he's played for in his career. Both received single-game suspensions without pay. Thomas came from the Boston Celtics during the off-season in a big trade involving Kyrie Irving. "I would say it is more by whatever means necessary is the way Coach Riley looks at it".

"People say the last two years the way we have done it is non-traditional or unconventional", Spoelstra told Yahoo Sports. "He doesn't have to say anything". While he didn't have as many boards or blocks this time around, he was still very active on both ends of the floor and set some great screens to free up his teammates. "I think when we do that, we're a tough team to beat, no matter who we're playing".
