Former Weinstein production assistant shares graphic account of sexual assault

In a press conference held Tuesday afternoon in New York City, Mimi Haleyi shared her experiences with the Hollywood producer beginning in 2004. "I said, 'No sorry I'm not a masseuse, ' and I suggested he contact hotel reception with his request", she claimed while speaking next to her attorney Gloria Allred.

An actress has sued The Weinstein Company, claiming what other women have alleged. that Harvey Weinstein lured her into the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, demanded a massage and then forced oral sex on her.

But Weinstein got in touch afterward and offered her a job on one of his TV productions in NY.

"He held me on the bed, I tried to get him off me but ... he was extremely persistent and physically overpowering", she said. He asked her to meet him at the Mercer Hotel lobby "for a chat". "He even pulled out my tampon", Haleyi recalled, adding that the horrific ordeal left her "mortified". She was in her 20s, though she declined to reveal her exact age at the time.

"I remember Harvey after rolling onto his back afterwards saying, 'Don't you think we are so much closer to each other now?' To which I replied, 'No.'"
Hayleyi said she chose to come forward to support all the other women who have already done so. "Please stop.' He wouldn't take no for an answer", Haleyi said. But she said Weinstein would not take no for an answer, and continued to call her, at one point showing up to her apartment twice in one day. "I steered clear of him as soon as I could for the rest of the evening but soon forgot about it, until the New York Times and New Yorker pieces set off a landslide".

"I said, 'I'm not coming to Paris with you and I hear you have a bad reputation with women.' That's when he backed off", Haleyi said. "I would not want anyone to do that to me, even if the person was a romantic partner..."

Among the dozens - including Gwyneth Paltrow and Ashley Judd - who have claimed Weinstein sexually harassed them, several women have said Weinstein raped them.

Through his spokesperson, Weinstein has denied any allegations of nonconsensual sex, but police departments in London, Los Angeles, and NY are now investigating, as is the NY attorney general.

Also on Monday, the number of women accusing Weinstein of sexual misconduct, harassment, assault or rape surpassed 50 people, according to USA Today.
